Reg and his sweaty roll up; are waiting for youuuuuu!!!
However many items come through the letterbox today, they all count as cards, so DO tell your friends you got 2-7 cards. (With today’s junk mail levels, you’re pretty much guaranteed 2, minimum)
DO NOT shave your legs and if possible, you will have abstained from shaving for long enough to tong your leg hairs into beautiful ringlets!
DO eat something enormously calorific, I’m gonna slam an Indian for 2 whole people, right down me.
DO fondly remember all the past Valentines that you spent with your ex’s, with a symbolic flick of the V’s!
DO spend at least £23 on yourself today; because if you were one of the unlucky few that left it until 6pm on the 13th to buy your other half a card, that is how much you would have paid for said card in Clinton’s!!! (Daylight bastard robbery)
Send everyone you love a text, your mum, smelly grand-dads, best friends, your great uncle twice removed if you’re struggling for contacts (they won’t reply cos they are having sex, but you will have to take note of the abundance of love you have in your life) Read the rest of this entry
What a classic shot for drunken chuckles! 🙂
Well well well
I am drunk (thank fooook for spell check) and I am writing. I do believe this is a new experience in the life cycle of Dawny
Some addled thoughts…
My cat’s rock
I have several holes in my hand because I constructed 8 8 8 pieces of flat pack furniture and I BROKE the ROLSON screwdriver, 3 items in
My mum said, no offence darling but crazy people often have large amounts of strength
I love reading
I hate them pooey flies, called attic flies, they creep into the walls in the summer as tiny creepy puuupee shit, and then come and invade the house later, flying around all busted up; and landing their massive selves on me and my hands, with their vile and lengthy old legs.
They can’t reproduce and they are the fly version of 98 year old humans with cancer and dementia. And they disgustingly disintegrate over everything Read the rest of this entry
Timing is everything…
Yet in many ways, time is a fallacy, it is a man-made concept. Greenwich mean
time, morning, noon, night, today, tomorrow, next year. We made them all up!
Before clocks, wasn’t life just… ‘Being’?
And is it time that has made, just ‘being’ so hard?
Yet in all its literal nothingness, it is everything
As people, living through ‘time’
We change as sure as a ticking clock ticks
Even those people who have no insight into their insides
The people who form their opinions in their 20’s and never waver from them
The people who never pick up a book, and the people who never listen to anyone unless they agree with them,
Even these people + time (a man made concept) = change Read the rest of this entry
They say life is one big circle of destruction and creation, a looping mass of ‘making and breaking’ on a continual rolling cycle.
Let me provide a life example of this phenomena in action, from tonight –
I’m feeling rather creative at the moment, so I decided to download a trial of ‘Mix Pad’, with the idea of recording one of my songs, and then recording a 2nd track of me harmonising over the top.
Well I began by recording me playing the Ukulele and singing on track 1
Harmonies came on track 2
Then I decided it sounded poo, so I hopped online to see if I could quickly find some free drum tracks and failed miserably, HOWEVER, I then realised I could re-create the sound of the bass drum and a cymbal by…wait for it…beat-boxing! God bless the 90’s children! And along came drums… Read the rest of this entry
She's the flowers, the wind and spring...
My boss has requested a review on a song, from a personal stand point. I have chosen to write about
Almaz by Randy Crawford
It’s strange listening to it with purposeful but analytical ears. Naming the pieces of the journey that it takes me on has been really quite moving, so thank you for the request…
I absolutely adore the piano, and this song is also one of my Mum’s all time favourites,
She would play it every Saturday full blast and I remember so clearly her passion when she sang along, with a voice almost as beautiful.
I see now that the warmth of it comes largely with the association with my Mum. When she sings she is most free, and I would watch her disappear until she was totally inside the song, her small release from the outside she had to endure.
The first 8 bars of that piano take me back to the feelings of Saturday mornings. The security of the chaos that ensued as the 3 of us played up while Mum pulled out the chairs, and asked us to lift up our feet so she could get the Hoover in the gap; then I remembered how ‘ickle’ I was; and that it was ages before I was included in the ‘lift your feet up club’
The piano and the warm security, if I close my eyes, it takes just 4 bars and I am back there
And then I am taken to school, trumpet lessons with my unforgettable music teacher. Read the rest of this entry
Ignorance is bliss but…
Ignorance is subjective
Ignorance is dangerous
Intellect is a blessing
Intellect is profound sadness
Intellect is a vehicle
Naivety is peace
Naivety is lacking

The final part to my seven-ogy!
And then I will get on with my allocated writing tasks from my boss/pimp (I’m 6 weeks late), which is nothing new for me!
Here’s the finaleee, it’s pretty crap really which is a shame as it’s a series finisher, I should have thought out this ‘natural order thing’ more thoroughly…
Anyway I shall begin…
Reading about procrastination this evening, has got me thinking about impulsivity. Apparently the two go hand in hand, and impulsivity prevents us from doing what we need/want to do. (I get this, totally; and as I type bilge instead of doing LIFE, and I am the epitome of an impulsive procrastinator, BUT…)
I’ve just had a quick flick through my thinking/action processes, to assess which decisions I’ve made impulsively and which were rational, and this is where I came unstuck
Impulsivity is a mofo for making me procrastinate
BUT Impulsivity is also the ONLY thing that stops me procrastinating and starts me moving Read the rest of this entry
Jesusin Ka Ryst!!
Monday? Is That Youuuuu?
It is Monday
It has been FABULOUS!
This does not happen to me, I swear I actually have DNA strands that can’t handle them, it’s intrinsic, statutory Dawny, and as regular as pooing is to flies. I have the Ump pretty much every Monday
I awoke from a not so marvellous sleep, however, my lovely sister had been to buy bacon and crusty rolls, which was a really pleasant surprise
Then the lovely lady from the housing association came round cos I’m getting a brand new kitchen :), and the chick turned up with a little mini mobile walking B&Q styleeeee set of displays. I discovered I am getting a most marvellous kitchen and I would like to thank the gods of Pan Handles, because now it is illegal to have them against a wall (cos we cannot safely move handles to the side anymore). So yay for the health and safety police, I’m even getting a posh tap. Read the rest of this entry
In response to the request from the author of this marvellous piece…’My Ten Commandments’ ( visit novembrepleut.worpress.com for a read ). Here is my far crappier version of the new age ‘Ten Commandments’ Dawny Styleeeeee…
Up for a new testament anyone?
1 – Thou shalt notice the free and limitless pleasure that comes with needing to eat to survive, every time thou puts something delightful in thou mouth
2 – Thou shalt learn everything thy/thou can, about everything thy’s need to, and thou shalt keep learning or face the wrath of the disciple, ‘Ignoramus Monstrosotus’
3 – Thou shalt be nice, no acting like your nice and being a little beast on the quiet, thy queen of crappy blogging will know, and she is worse than the disciple ‘Ignoramus Monstrosotus’
4 – Thou shalt love thy family and friends, even if thou relatives are bilious and thy friends are blindingly boring
(I know not what I am doing with theses thou’s and thy’s, as you may have noticed!)

Of all the people to re-ignite my long-winded fire…
David Pooey Cameron
- Come again Cammy Boy? FAIR???
In reference to capping benefits at X amount of £’s, because there are people at home doing NOTHING (The lady being interviewed would be one of those affected by the new cap and the child benefit reforms, and she is mid way through doing the ‘nothingness’ it takes to rear 5 children; all the things she does to ensure their lives are safe! everyday). Defining this ‘life work’ as NOTHING is perhaps a more fundamental problem for ‘child benefit AND housing benefit’; than the problem of which family to rob first.
It seems Slavery (for parents this era) is back on the ‘forward thinking’ agenda!
He ‘toffed out’ his disgust that a person at home, should never ever be getting the equivalent of a £35k salary, after tax!
Which equates to around £28,000
Which is a lot of money!
(Like Parents, Surgeons are responsible for the safety of multiple humans every day, and I think they get a little more than 35k a year)
Single people who are unemployed people do not get £28,000!
Single people get about £57 a week to live, and pay all bills bar rent.
NOTE the significance of rent in his plans… Read the rest of this entry

'After Pictures' - D.I.Y 'Blog-Over'
Same author who will do anything to avoid writing essays!
Same sad wench that tried a good 84 wallpapers and wasted all her dongle allowance, and essentially paid 15 squids to download a bitmap image of a flower!

To my dear, slightly odd old Step Dad, who I remember with mixed feelings, but mostly, a lot of laughter and a lot of love…

Happy Birthday Alby! I wondered why I had been thinking about you soooo much these last few days; and then I saw the date and smiled. I still miss you and we talk about you often. I hope you continue to sleep soundly Treasure, and here is a gift list for you to read from heaven, of some of your classic moments…
The screaming of ‘Trent’, and the laughter of the rest of our giant household…When you put the green bits off the tomatoes in Theresa’s bed, and she thought a plague of spiders had infested her mattress!
The party where you were so smashed, you thought you owned a Rhodesian ridgeback, the beast was apparently in the bedroom, though none of us had ever seen this horse! 😉
When your mate stacked it, and his entire torso flew through the new fence, much to Mums dismay and horror, but OMG did we chuckle??? It was epic and unexpected!

They say ‘True Love’ lasts a lifetime, and I know this not to be true, per se.
Some ‘true loves’ last for a period of our lifetime; and maybe these could still be defined loosely as a lifetime; because as we come to the end of them, sometimes we’ve changed so much, and the love has turned into something else, something lesser. This kind of ending can close a whole lifetime’s worth of chapters. And in moving on, it kind of feels like you are indeed, starting out again. Back in Nappies and crying for a dummy, some calpol and warm miiilllllk!
So maybe there are ‘true loves’ that last a (mini/maxi/period/chapter) lifetime, maybe they do count too, or maybe not…
But some ‘true loves’, well I think they must last a whole lifetime…22 years is a long time thus far. Read the rest of this entry
