Such cruelty to animals is bloody heartbreaking, BUT what we choose to put at the back of our minds is the HUMAN beings that society/us/the world MURDER for profit, and sometimes (too often) animals and children are tortured too. And starved to death! FOR crying out loud, What in the Lords name is wrong with us? 😦 and WHEN are we getting off our ass’s for a big ass WORLD IS NOT HAVING IT ANYMORE day…We need Peace but the world needs our loving STRENGTH! Crazy Train To Tinky Town

Karen Wren runs a small animal shelter in Didim, Turkey trying to save abandoned and injured street dogs along with feeding up to eighty other hungry mouthsforest dogs on the beach, at the side of the road and in the forest each and every day. Sterling work don’t you think? There are no thank yous for this type of hero, because that’s exactly what she is although I don’t think she would thank me for saying that. Often when they are no funds, she is the one who puts her hands in her pocket to buy that much-needed dog food particularly during the leaner months when the tourists have all gone home.

About a month ago their shelter was flooded leaving dogs homeless with nowhere else to take refugeflood – imagine the horror of discovering your life long work gone overnight. But fight back they did and have cobbled together with…

Oh What a Night! :0…

Status

After pondering on a vast number of words and deleting them all

I have just one thing to say

THANKYOU LIFE and ALL that reside in it :)!

(Or maybe 2 or 3 things it seems)

I’m not so thankful for my highly sensitive ‘bits’, but they are there for a reason…

I laughed A LOT last night and it was BLOODY MARVELLOUS!

I plan on doing as much of that as possible, as soon as possible, for as long as possible

Patience is a virtue!

Fear is a foooking nuisance

Hurt is a habit

Faith is a life saver

Once again…THANKS A MILLION 🙂

Love Dawny Xxx

Never too Old or too Happy to make a DEN! :)

Standard

Just this morning, I was feeling in need of a little of life’s magiccat quilt

Like many other mornings, Mr Rurch (one of my two AMAZING pussy cats) joined in the fun of playing ‘den’

I don’t like to place undue pressure on myself during these times, so our den making was limited by me and the chair. It’s not a complicated process with this in mind 😉

Basically, it’s me in the armchair, with my arms raised and acting as mini stilts, with the quilt surrounding me, leaning on the very top/back of the chair and ending on the floor…Then I make a little entrance hole in the quilt and I say the magic words

Actually, I whisper to him as this seems to give him endless joy 🙂

‘Mr Rurch…Come get in the den’

Then I like to close the hole off and pull the quilt tight so he can’t get in! 🙂 He then mounts the slope that forms around my quilt covered stilt arms and scratches and screams trying to get access. Once I’vecats quilt rinsed that section of all the available entertainment, I re-open the entrance and he crawls down with his eyes out on door stops…I have to hold the quilt up a little bit, so that he can get on my lap without being plunged into complete darkness

He loves it (WE love it)

In this World of White and Blue…Finally I see the Colour of You

Standard

Dear Lil,

As I lay here in this blue and white world, the smell of hospital disinfectant fills my nostrils and pinches the back of my throat. All I see are blue and white floors, and blue and white curtains, filled with blue and white soldiers flitting from here to there; they are all running around too quickly to stop and smile…As I eat another tasteless dinner, my ears cringe at the harsh sound of clashing trays being collected by the blue apron brigade

Then; in my mind’s eye, I’m arriving home after work…I see you turn around at the sound of my feet on the linoleum…You always had a smile for me, no matter what the day bought you personally. I never stopped to wonder why sometimes, it didn’t creep up into your eyes

There is much time to take stock of my surroundings in here, and it has been this lengthened time with my senses, that’s lead me back to you

As I lie down at night now, I think of all the mornings of my life, when I woke up to find your arms around me, and your cold toes tickling the soles of my feet Read the rest of this entry

Lent/Musical Extravaganza Update :)

Video

Welcome to DJ Dawny’s Lent-Ville..Please feel free to spend the next 21 or so minutes, singing this bundle of musical wonder, direct to God himself

As planned, I have been doing my best to sing to God since the 13th. I am known for singing quite terribly (on purpose) when I’m alone, so I may well be making the Lords ears bleed :)… but I’m hoping his heart is singing with me, in spite of the plethora of bum notes that leak from within the depths of my strange old soul 🙂

Here are the 7 songs I’ve chosen since day 1

After I was Broken, I Learnt About Before…

Video

Before I judge, I try to really look

Before I see, I remember the manuscript was longer than the book

Before I decide, I ask myself what makes me an expert

Before I classify, I realise complexity makes a recipe for a convert

Before I write you off, I remember how painful life can be

Before I label, I know that no-one understands you like He

Before anything, I know there is context, circumstance, reason and feeling

Before lectures, I try wondering how you might be reeling

Before damnation, I ask myself why you could be lying

Before giving up on you, I realise when you’re lying, you’re not crying Read the rest of this entry

‘Lent Time’ – 40 days and 40 nights, 40 songs to Brighten LIFE!

Standard

Being the ignoramus I am, I’ve only just discovered its ‘Lent Time’!lent 3

OK Universe! I’m mid way through launching out a plethora of ‘body depleting’ activities and substances from my life; all of which began in the new year!

I think if I forced myself to eject anymore unhealthy wonders from my existence right now; I might perish and die!! 😉

Sooooo…This is what I’m gonna do for Lent

SWAP my thoughts FOR SONGS

I intend to try to sing my way through the day (In thought and sometimes, out loud) for the next 40 days. Each day, I will search through my song collection and choose a little beauty. One that I feel, reflects true love (and therefore, also God)lent 2

I thought it might also be a fab idea to pick songs that have some kind of connection to a happy memory. PURPOSE – Cheer up for God!

I read somewhere once, that the highest type of prayer is expressed in song…And if the song reminds me of something happy/sweet/treasured; then hopefully I will increase the amount of good vibes ebbing from my soul, and out into the big wide world. You never know, I might cheer up any lost or moody souls ‘tuned into my wavelength’…with my vocal cahoooning! Read the rest of this entry

Diarrhoea…Cucumber Lane and BODMAS! Watch out WORLD!!!! :)

Standard

It’s odd what we remember and what we forget don’t ya think? spell

Take your schooling, and I’m sure after 5 minutes of thinking about your memories of all those past lessons; you will see that the things you remember have very little to do with helpfulness or importance

My memory is particularly useless! So; I can recall about 3 facts from school, which is kinda dire when you consider the number of years we all spend there

One day my teacher read a letter to the class. It was from a Mother, describing why little Johnny was too ill to come to school

Johnny had a dose of diarrhoea and after 3 goes at spelling diarrhoea, all crossed out a bit like this

dierrspelling

diaare

dyarr

The Mother gave up trying to spell it correctly, and under the scribbled out attempts, she wrote – ‘The Shits’ 🙂 Oh how this tickled me… Read the rest of this entry

Bin The Labels…and Please Make Way For The Connections

Video

If I ruled the world, I would begin by eradicating labels from society…ALL of them (almost)

There would be no – Black, White, British, Spanish, Old, Young, Liberal, Conservative, Sociopath, Bi Polar, Cancer, Farmer, Waitress, Unemployed, Married, Single, Disabled, labels 1Blind, Forgiving, Vengeful, Kind, Generous, Sweet, Cruel, Upper Class, Learning Difficulties, Healthy, Sick, Damaged, Fixed etc

When I studied sociology, I learnt about the importance of labels. I was taught that when a new label was introduced to mainstream language, it was a reflection of a ‘groups’ needs being recognised.labels

I was also taught that when a new label replaces an old one, such as the change from ‘Spastic‘ in the 80’s; to ‘A person with Learning Difficulties‘ in the 2000’s; the change is a reflection of a group trying to shed the stigma of being attached to a label that is mocked/ridiculed/mistreated/misunderstood/considered lesser

Sociology aside, life has taught me more about labels than any academic theory ever could. Read the rest of this entry

For My Mum…

Video

‘Let me inside you, into your room, I’ve heard its lined with the things you don’t show’

These lyrics call to mind my Mum. Her humility and her selflessness, driven by a pure heart and good intentions for everyone else. Her troubles always take a back seat in the dark, for the good of her family

The universe is eternal right? Then she will still be my mother when everything’s gone, she will always carry on because this world will always need Mothers like mine – To shine. She could never be forgotten, as the song gracefully paints

She is not perfect and neither are ‘we’, but the love and the bond between a child and their mother, is to me at least, one of the most perfect things ever to come from all that life offers…

10 Random Things I Think

Standard

I think the world is far weirder than one person could ever even imagine, let alone grasp or fully understand/know

I think the biggest damn between people, is made entirely of presumption shaped bricks

I think I am a least partially tapped of mind, never to be untapped againi think

I think there are levels on the way to evolving as a species, and I believe we won’t get to the highest ones until we abandon money and the RIDICULOUS human invention known as – the economy

I think people are a lot kinder deep down than they think they are

My nan used to say, thought thought he’d shit himself, but when he looked he’d only farted 🙂 lol… nice one Grandma Bunn 🙂

I think the way we allow our old people to be treated is a disgrace, and we should be utterly and entirely ASHAMED

I think people are most lacking free time in the West, and free time is needed for reflective thought to be touched upon, and for growth and change to be considered, rather than reactive

I think I think too much for my own good

I think love has more power than any other force on this earth

Another Book Intro. I’m not so sharp at Ending. Oh well…Practice makes Perfect (Or Practice makes Completion even…that would be Nice) :)

Chapter 1

Self preservation really is an inbuilt instinct after all…

It’s wasn’t until poor Sarah was out of the metaphorical fire, that she began to see more than just the tip of the dagger, just past the end of her nose.

6 months later, she had side swiped all the weapons and embraced the ‘fluffy-ness of life’ with all of her might; and as expected by those who knew her better than she knew herself, she was 110 percent ready for her 1st presentation

She could see by the look in her God Mothers eyes that she had disappointed her again, but she couldn’t let the pain of that knowledge overcome her willingness to talk to them

She had promised, and she felt that it was the least she should do

Just before she began her address to the many nervous sets of eyes in the dusty old room, she looked once more at her God Mother, Olivia. Sweet caring Olivia…The feeling of guilt and the reflection of her shame protruded once more; then slipped away as though they had never arrived, to be replaced by joy, so quickly that the feeling felt like an intrusion. A welcome intrusion at that, because it was the feeling she associated with rebellion. Be it the harmless sort, right through to, the utterly potent type

No-one was more shocked by this transformation of feelings, than Sarah herself. Read the rest of this entry
