Just Breathe…

Video

Fear and pain cause us to build a fortress around ourselves, one thick enough to withstand nuclear attacks to the mind, body and soulfear

Reality teaches us all about the limitations of fear

And ends the lesson with a reminder that scary things exist

But does it do us any good? Trying to avoid fearful situations?

The soul knows the answer to this…

The soul knows love, life, peace and freedom. It has no room or purpose for fear, other than as a reminder to be brave

Fear stops me breathing, over and over again Read the rest of this entry

Oh My Gaaaaawd! An Actual Award :) Thank-you Millions!…

Video

Thanks to 3 truly fabulous blogger’s – Tracy, Harula and Joe…I have been nominated for 2 awards

Very Inspiring Bloggerblog-award 1Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

And

Blog of The Year 2012 (See below for the link to the rules bit :))

shocked

I’m proper humbled, chuffed, honoured and surprised, all in equal measure.

Especially as I really love and appreciate their blogs and their writing talents. Please check out their ‘magic snippets’ at the following links

Tracy – http://fecthis.wordpress.com/

Harula – http://wordsthatserve.wordpress.com/

Joe – http://iamforchange.wordpress.com/

The rules for VIB require you to list 7 random things about yourself. However, Harula decided to list 7 things that inspire her instead. http://wordsthatserve.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/inspiration/

I’ve chosen to do the same…seven

1. I’m inspired by community. I believe that it’s a basic fundamental need of most people to be part of a community. The blogs I have nominated for both awards provide a safe, warm, kind and loving ‘giant word bath’…and I jump into it whenever possible

2. I’m inspired by forgiveness. We all have old wounds that were once painful but when we forgive, we lift a weight off of our shoulders, and grow at the same time

3. I’m inspired by people who share their stories. Being a bit of a fluid lady, I am often enlightened and altered through reading the wisdom of others. I read many blogs that are based on recovering from addiction and/or mental illness; these bloggers take the time and effort to pass on their experiences and in doing so, they change lives Read the rest of this entry

A Bash at 10 Inspirational Quotes (from Moi)

Status

The Inspiration page on WordPress is one of my favourite places to visit, and it’s never short on inspirational quotes. I feel there is something truly beautiful and priceless about nurturing another soul with a few wise words. So…I thought I’d give it a go, in the spirit of ‘paying forward’ what I’ve learnt so far.inspiration

Here are my 10 ‘Dawny Quotes’

🙂

1. If you are creative you are blessed! For there is no right or wrong in ‘Art’. No matter how awful you deem your poem, or the picture you paint… someone somewhere will think it’s fabulous.

2. Anger may well be the most complex and potentially dangerous emotion of the lot. Therefore, learn early, that when you lose your temper, you need to find your silence at the same time.

3. Faith in God is exactly the same thing as faith in love. There is not a soul on this earth who has lived a life untouched by love in some way or another. If you doubt God, just remember love until the doubt subsides. Read the rest of this entry

See Them, Thank Them, Forgive Them…

Standard

As adults, we realise that our parents are not perfecttopo late

We realise that they make mistakes

We realise they are human

We realise that they did their best, whatever that was when we were growing up

When they were still growing up

Tell them they are forgiven

Thank them for doing their best

Thank them for the million sacrifices they made to give you life

I hope that no-body lives the reality of this song. One day it will be too late to tell them, ‘cos they’ll be gone

A song to a father, from his broken hearted daughter

To my Mum and Dad – I love you more than life itself…and what I realise most of all, is that I am blessed to belong to you. Thank-you for giving me life Xxx

Gone Too Soon! 3 Legends in 3 Years

Whitney – How could anybody not be transfixed by such talent and beauty. Truly a face and a voice you could get lost in forever. A pitch perfect picture perfect princess! Whitney dragged me through childhood and adolescence and out to the other side.

Michael Jackson – Another deep musical love of mine that developed in my teens. And this performance, in my opinion, is MJ at his best. The expression on his face when he is singing the last-minute; captures his magic, his talent and his passion in its entirety. It often brings me to tears; and it moves me to my very core… Read the rest of this entry

Short Number 42 – Purposefully Confused :)

If you research enough differing theories, ‘reality’ officially becomes a complete mystery

Star Dust to Awareness, Ego to Collective Consciousness! Magically Mind Bending Squit!

Standard

I watched this documentary the other night on stars AND IT WAS BLOODY AMAZING! So much so, that I’m considering dipping into BBC4 on a regular basis, even though the dry old ‘voice over’s’ sound like a bunch of stoned aristocrat’s; and whether male or female, they have a shockingly negative impact on my general well-being! (It doesn’t take much environmental stimuli, to send me over the royal edge ;))

Anyhoo, according to a plethora of clever people, we are made of star-dust or less romantically (I quote) – nuclear waste!

Apparently, there are 92 things in the entire universe and we’re all made of these 92 things. Everything on earth; stars, plants, animals, sea-life, humans, the ocean, other planets etc…

Humans however, have somehow popped out with rather more troubles than say – your average Yucca plant! How did we, as balls of matter made of exactly the same stuff as everything else, end up in this pickle we call reality?

How did we go from atoms/dust – to individuals who know they exist? Where did we collect our ego along the way? And what a bleeding disability to throw upon us (an ego), with mere space dust as the starting block of life. Read the rest of this entry

Short Number 41 – A Good Neighbour, An Addict & Their Stairs…

“I have help, it just looks different, abstract…somewhat scattered”

“Why is it so hard?”

“Because we are making solid ‘rock’ from the energy of thought. That takes time”

“Only temperature does”

The Hidden Joys of Pigeons…The Apparent ‘Scum’ of the Bird World ;)

Video

When I was young I used to be scared of Pigeons, maybe because a family member who will remain nameless (;0)… scattered bird seeds onto the top of my head in the middle of Trafalgar Square; where half of the world’s pigeons ‘hang out’, and my skull got pecked to buggery by about 15 of the swine’s!

English: London: Trafalgar square, pigeons Pig...

English: London: Trafalgar square

Anyhoo, now that I’m a big girl, I’m kinda in love with birds, and in particular…Pigeons

Here’s why

1. I love the way they shoot their heads back and forth (horizontal like) when they walk around

2. When I look at the skinny-ness of their legs, I’m baffled at the miracle that is –

‘A pigeon walking’…

How those little sticks support the weight of their well rounded selves, I just don’t know!

3. Their beady little eyes come in 3rd

And that is pretty much it…Not a lot to go on, but these 3 little things make me love them. I often stop in the street to watch in wonderment, if I see one strutting his/her stuff! Check out this little chap in action, and next time you’re in need of witnessing a miracle…Remember to look at those matchstick legs and the rules of physics and mass! They defy all logic, which renders their ability to walk, firmly in the ‘magical and miraculous’ arena of life

Just a thought – Maybe their legs are prone to successfully holding them up, because they are knee-less!

Enjoy

Upon further inspection, it looks like they have knees in their upper thighs! Go Figure 😉

Social Status, Success and Happiness – Love like a Lioness

Status

When I was little, my Mum told me over and over that all she ever wanted me to be – was happy

I went through a phase of wishing that instead, she had told me she wanted me to chase my dreams.

Then I learnt some lessons, gained some knowledge, and experienced an awakening inside me…of ‘God’ and of ‘Spirituality’. It produced a feeling so far past perfection, there are no words to describe it, no words to do justice to the moment, no route out of it, or away from it. I sobbed tears of pure joy…This moment alone, made me what I am, and made my life somehow, already complete

If I go back a bit in time; I spent some years in the rat race, until illness took me out of it; and before I felt that feeling, I was struggling to keep up with the rest of the world, failing miserably and marching towards finishing my degree and getting a ‘good job’. Thinking I’d be happy if I could just get those 2 things ‘sorted’.

But; back to that feeling…It was love, unity, peace and maybe just maybe, it was a brief moment spent in the spandangly wonder that is the ‘One-ness’. For that moment, the upper level of the experience was perfection in its purest form…and the under current was a safe and warm message that ‘everything is OK’ Read the rest of this entry

Just Beautiful! Peace…Dudes and Dudettes! :)

Image

A couple of years ago, I came out of my shrinks office into the waiting area, and I saw this poem on the wall. Unfortunately I cannot give credit to the author ‘cos I can’t make out the name. I was on lithium at the time (a mood stabiliser)- which doesn’t make you shake; it makes you rattle!… So; it took about 8 attempts to get a photo with words just clear enough to read, and it sits by the side of my bed. When I’m ‘blue’ it reminds me of the beauty we are surrounded by, and the peace to be found within nature…So with thanks to the unknown wibbly author…I hope he/she doesn’t mind me sharing this beautiful poem for you to enjoy!

Man has taken for granted too long, the beauty of the planet he dwells upon

Never become complacent with nature

The spirit communes in awe

To be surrounded by its energy calms the most troubled of souls

Mountains, forests, endless skies and wilderness

The Earth, the Sun, Moon and Stars

Every Human spirit, however tainted lost or corrupt

Can be made complete.

Quiet

At peace

Even the lowliest misanthrope.

Kicking Social Anxiety in Ze Butt! Yay!

Standard

I have a rather bulging treasure chest of mental illnesses and as expected, anxiety plays a large part in my life and my symptoms. Over the years I have gone from the status of

‘Social Butterfly’ to ‘Helma the Hermit’

Anyhoo, I was trawling the net to try to find some help for the swine that is anxiety; and I found this AMAZING site.

http://www.anxietynomore.co.uk/

It is quite simply – A bubbling cauldron of spandangly insight, wisdom and tools! The guy who runs/owns the site has written a book on anxiety, but there is so much info on his page, I didn’t feel the need to purchase the book.

Instead, I used one of my many many unused and shiny notebooks (it’s a crushing fetish/addiction; since they started pimping them with flowers and butterflies (DAMN YOU CHINA with your tempting plethora of delightful goods ;)). ANYHOO – Back to the point, I now own a utilised notebook named

My Little Book of Anxiety

Self…’I do’

“And do you know that I forgive you, you foolish little numpty? ;)”

Self…’I didn’t, but thanks’

“And do you forgive yourself now too?”

Self…’I do’…’Huge Thanks to you for forgiving me first’

What 5 things would you change if you ruled your country?

Standard

1st – I would add 2 hours to the day, giving everyone an extra hour in bed every morning; and an extra hour to relax at night

2nd – I would add an extra day to each week, giving everyone an extra day off a week to vegetate and recuperate

(I can’t be ass’d to do the maths, but a year would take a lot longer to pass by, and this would seriously reduce our life expectancy, pleasing those who can’t wait for the end of their lives, and inspiring those with a zest for life to get on it; with regards to ‘chasing their dreams’)

3rd – I would re-write the Genie in a bottle story, increasing the wishes to 5 instead of the traditional 3

(This means I now have 2 more wishes :))

4th – I would make the following statement a compulsory daily chant, for every one involved in the work of caring for others

“I don’t have to understand or relate to someone’s pain, in order to accept that they are in pain. Therefore, every person I come into contact with is automatically in pain, and a highly effective response to pain is KINDNESS. So I shall be kind to all, before and after I read their notes!” (NOT exactly rocket science, yet highly overlooked)

5th – When the electoral register forms were sent out each year, I would add a compulsory form headed

‘What 5 things would you change if you ruled the country?’

6th – (5 becomes 6 due to the age-old saying ‘plus one for luck’). I would collect a group of clever clever people to read everyone’s 5 things, and ask them to find ways to implement the people’s ideas, whilst still pleasing the greedy capitalist pigs who run the world!! They (the clever people) would present their policy documents to parliament, and the big boys would HAVE to pick ONE every year (by law)…

Happy Days 🙂

What would you do with your 5 (plus 1 for luck?)?

A Big Old Phat Thank-You is in Order! :)

Standard

After scouring Word-Press for the last gazillion hours, I stumbled upon some amazing insights into self-esteem and how to achieve it the wise way; as well as many tips and ways to cope with life’s adversity, in positive ways

As a student of society, I still remain baffled by so much regarding the science of people’s minds. For every process that I understand on a deeper level, I am met with another that I had no idea existed. Life, and everything in it, is complex, and only partially understood. Living life and ‘getting through it’ requires constant analysis; and the perspectives and knowledge of just one other person, can reveal bucket loads about how different people think, and explanations of how they come to the conclusions they reach.

All of our experiences, merge together from the year dot. And as new one’s are added to our personal pots, our perspectives often change as life is seen through different lenses

I learnt a lot last night about self-awareness, growth, difference, weakness, vulnerability, honesty, social norms, culture, illness and lastly, but most importantly, I learnt a great deal more about the power of the mind Read the rest of this entry

Fishing for Faith…Found or Taught? Defines how deep you get Caught!

Standard

I may be wrong here but I’m gonna spout my opinion anyway :)… I think the way somebody finds faith in God (through teaching versus experience) makes a great difference in how much that faith impacts the life of the person who believes

I grew up being told that God exists, I went to church from age 5 ’til I was 13, and I can honestly say that it had little to no impact upon my belief system. I left the community with a ‘maybe he exists and maybe he doesn’t’ attitude.

I tried to read the bible and a couple of other books about God, and I never got further than the first couple of pages as they all had the same tone…’Worship me, I rock, there is no-one better than me, no-one else deserves your adoration more than me etc etc. Then within 4 pages I’d read some (unloving) comment about homosexuality or women, that began to heat my blood up… and the book got closed

Thanks to Neale Donald Walsh, the author of the ‘Conversations with God’ trilogy, I was finally able to read about God in a simplistic way that fitted with my previous beliefs; Because Book 1 is essentially a book about a ‘belief in love’…

You can’t really deny love exists (everywhere), unless you’re totally out of touch with reality. Read the rest of this entry

Dear Church, I’ve sent you a little letter this week…Love God!

Video

Whilst browsing WordPress today, I came across this great entry…

Courtesy of – muchmorethannear.wordpress.com

One part in particular (shown below in pink) caught my eye, so I’ve decided to join the gang of authors, with my own version of –

‘Gods latest letter to the church’

“I wonder what God might write in a letter to our church today? I recently asked our leadership team to prayerfully write such a letter and to pass them on to me without talking about their content with each other. My hope is that although they will inevitably reflect their human authors, their personalities and interests, that as I read them alongside each clear patterns might emerge as the Spirit speaks. I am a firm believer that all believers have access to God through the Spirit, and so I extend this challenge to you too.”

If you decide to do the same, pretty please direct me to your own letter’s, as I’d love to read them.

OK…Here goes my little love note

Dear sweet children of mine,

I am writing you this letter for many reasons, but I’ll start with my main point, which is of course…To tell you how much I love you

The title and shape of the church you stand in, makes no difference to our friendship. A church can be any place at all if you just call it a church. A field, a kitchen, a cathedral or a mosque. If you truly trust in me and my copious amounts of love, you will hopefully understand this point. Read the rest of this entry
